Michael Hlohinec is the driving force behind RockPointe Custom Home Co. Ltd. His lifelong passion for exceptional design and high-quality craftsmanship is the cornerstone of every project. With a career spanning over two decades in the home building industry, Michael has dedicated himself to creating generational homes that are as enduring as they are beautifully designed.

At RockPointe Custom Home Co. Ltd., Michael’s mission is clear: to deliver exceptional quality, distinctively inspired and designed custom homes that ensure healthy, comfortable living for every client. His vision is for RockPointe to be the exclusive custom builder of choice in every market served—a goal achieved by steadfastly upholding core values.

EARLY ON

Growing up, Michael was inspired by the transformative power of design—spending countless hours watching This Old House and reading Fine Homebuilding. He marveled at the innovative works of architects like Frank Lloyd Wright and the organic beauty of Fallingwater. Summers spent in cottage country along the eastern shores of Georgian Bay only deepened his connection to nature. This environment influenced his commitment to building homes that not only impress aesthetically but also offer comfort and health to their occupants.

WORK

Since beginning his career in 2004, Michael has amassed a wealth of experience in various roles—from Contracts and Lumber Manager to Senior Site Supervisor, Production Manager, and Construction Manager—at Canada’s largest home builder. While executing responsibilities that paralleled executive roles, Michael remained dedicated to hands-on excellence, building over 3,200 homes. An extensive background in managing budgets, construction schedules, large teams and full-scale operations underscores his deep commitment to quality, trust, and integrity in every home he builds.

Michael’s journey from his first construction job on the waters of Georgian Bay to leading a company dedicated to excellence is a testament to his enduring passion for building homes that are as resilient as they are remarkable. His approach blends traditional craftsmanship with modern building science, ensuring that each home is not just built, but thoughtfully designed to enrich the lives of its owners for generations.
